MARSHALL, Mo. – The fifth ranked Texas Wesleyan University women's wrestling team competed at the Missouri Valley Open on Friday and Saturday. Camille Fournier (116), Lexi Basham (136), and Brittyn Corbishley (170) led the team with third place finishes.
 
TXWES finished fourth overall in team points among the field of 38, tallying 139 in the two-day event.
 
Fournier fell to Salyna Shotwell (Life) in the quarterfinal, before navigating her way through the consolation bracket to claim third, an 8-6 decision over Kendra Ryan (North Central College).
 
Basham also worked through six consolation round wins to claim third in the 136 bracket. She earned a fall (0:35) over Sara Sulejmani (North Central College).
 
Corbishley notched a quick fall (0:55) before a 10-0 tech fall win in round three earned her a quarterfinal appearance where she notched a 1:44 fall over Grand View's Hunter Robinson. She took a 12-2 tech fall loss in the semifinal match before edging out Ashley Lekas (unaffiliated), 6-5 in the consolation semifinal. Corbishley finished day two with a fall at 2:44 over King University's Cheyenne Brown to earn third place in the 170 bracket.
 
In day one, Devin Patton (123), Mohler (130), and Corbishley (170) posted quarterfinal wins in the championship bracket.
 
For Patton, it was a pair of falls and a pair of tech falls. Her day was capped by a 14-2 tech fall win over William Jewel's Eamlie Olson in the quarterfinal.
 
Mohler posted three fall wins in day one, capped by a 4:31 fall win over Saint Mary's Teya Villalpando. She lost the semifinal bout, but rebounded with a 12-2 tech fall in the consolation semifinal. She finished fourth in the 130 bracket after dropping the third place bout.
 
In other quarterfinal action, Jasmine Godinez (109) dropped an 8-2 decision to Wayland's Nina Pham.
 
Next up, the Lady Rams will travel to Plainview for the Wayland Open on Monday, Dec. 9th.
