GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Texas Wesleyan University men's tennis team improved 6-0 after a 5-2 win in a Red River Conference clash with Our Lady of the Lake University on Saturday.
The historic run by TXWES tennis was extended today as the Rams asserted their skill in a strong win. The team is now 2-0 against conference opponents this season.
The dual started tied 1-1 in doubles play before the Saints took the point after securing the doubles 2's match.
The Rams were too strong for the Saints in singles play however, as TXWES took pairings 2, 3, 4, and 5, with
Arthur Voiseux securing the fourth and deciding point by besting Vinicus Silva 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. It was the only match of the day to go three sets.
The team will celebrate senior day and host Dallas Baptist University Friday, April 9. TXWES Tennis play home matches at the Arlington Tennis Center. After that, the team will play Austin College (April 17) before competing at the Red River Athletic Conference tournament starting April 22.
