TULSA, OK-- The Texas Wesleyan Men's Tennis team (7-1) defeated Missouri Valley College 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Lafortune Tennis Center. The Rams bounced back from its last loss against Xavier University Louisiana.
Mathieu Vinet and
Arthur Voiseux dropped the first doubles match 7-5.
Andres Gonzalez and
Pablo Olmedo secured a victory in the second doubles match by a score of 7-5. Jose Merino and Lucas Freire secured a point in the final doubles match 6-3. MVC secured its only point of the match after Sharyy defeated
Andres Gonzalez in consecutive sets 6-3 and 6-1.
Mathieu Vinet gave the Rams 2-1 lead after sweeping both sets 6-1.
In the third singles match,
Thibault Gasser snatched a point for the Rams to extend the lead to 3-1.
Pablo Olmedo cruised to victory in consecutive sets by scores of 7-5 and 6-4 to clinch the match for TXWES.
Arthur Voiseux clawed his way to victory in two sets winning 7-5 and 7-6 to make the score 5-1.
Antoine Testaud ended the match on a positive note with a 7-5 and 6-3 victory in consecutive sets to secure the 6-1 victory for the Rams.Â
The Rams move to 7-1 on the season and will face Texas Lutheran on April 5 in Seguin, Texas.
