The Texas Wesleyan Gold Line Dancers were back in action as they competed in American Dance and Drill Team's Competitive Collegiate Championship (ADTS) held at the University of North Texas on Saturday, March 26th. This is the dancers 4th appearance at the competition since the team began in 2017. They Showcased in the Jazz and Hip Hop categories.  The Jazz performance to "OMG" by Adele, choreographed by guest instructor Madeline Massingill, received division I rating (highest) and placed 2nd Runner Up for the category. The Hip Hop performance to a music mix and choreographed by current TXWES student Ashton Williams, received division I rating (highest) and placed 1st Runner Up for the category. Without an NAIA division, the team competed in Div. II, and placed as 5th Runner Up over all in the division rank. Additionally, the team took home an American Academic Award for overall team GPA!   
 
"The experience was fun and great to be out there again after the modified years from the pandemic. I am proud of how far the team has come since our last time on the floor at this venue." said team Captain, Jacy Hubartt, a Senior in her 2nd showing at this event site. 
The Gold Line Dancers will continue their competitive season at the College Classic Nationals in Orlando, Florida in April.  Friends and Family can come support and see the performance for FREE on Monday, April 4th at 7:30pm in the Sid Richardson Gymnasium when the Cheer and dances team host their annual Spring Showcase!
