MTEN: Texas Wesleyan Men's Tennis Reaches Semifinals in Inaugural Heart Conference Tournament

KANSAS CITY — Texas Wesleyan University's men's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the inaugural Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday, dominating Grand View University 4-0 in the quarterfinals before falling to Missouri Baptist in the semifinal round at the Plaza Tennis Center.

The No. 3-seeded Rams opened the tournament with a commanding win over No. 6 Grand View. Texas Wesleyan secured the doubles point quickly and carried that momentum into singles play, earning three straight-set victories to clinch the match without surrendering a point.

In the semifinal later that evening, the Rams faced No. 2 Missouri Baptist. Despite a strong effort, Texas Wesleyan was unable to break through against a deep Spartans lineup, falling 4-0. MBU swept the doubles point and closed out the match with three quick singles wins to punch their ticket to the championship.

The Heart tournament wraps up Saturday morning with No. 1 William Woods taking on No. 2 Missouri Baptist in the title match. The tournament champion will earn an automatic bid to the national tournament.
