WGOLF: Three Rams Earn All-American Honors

KANSAS CITY - Texas Wesleyan University placed three golfers on the 2024-25 NAIA Women's Golf All-America teams, as announced Thursday by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Sophomore Makena Junkin earned First Team All-America honors after a stellar season where she secured five individual victories and a 73.7 adjusted scoring average over 33 rounds. She finished the season ranked No. 16 nationally. Junkin recorded seven top-three finishes and 11 top-10s, highlighted by wins at the TXWES Spring Invitational, Claud Jacobs Invitational, and Texas Intercollegiate.

Seniors Raeleigh Davidson and Salome Arango were both named Second Team All-Americans. Davidson ranked No. 31 nationally with a 75.0 adjusted scoring average. She claimed an individual title at the Kyle Blaser Invitational and finished eighth at the NAIA National Championship.

Arango ranked No. 29 nationally with a 74.8 adjusted scoring average, posting four top-three finishes. Her season highlight came as runner-up honors at the TXWES Spring Invitational and a third-place finish at the Kona Ice Keiser Kup.

National champion British Columbia led the All-America selections with six honorees, including four on the First Team, and head coach Chris MacDonald was named NAIA Women's Golf Coach of the Year. The 2024-25 NAIA Women's Golf Player of the Year will be announced following the Women's Golf Coaches Association's release of Players of the Year across all collegiate divisions.
