FORT WORTH - The Texas Wesleyan University men's and women's tennis teams have been honored as 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Teams, the association announced this week.
 
Both programs were recognized for their exceptional performance in the classroom, earning distinction among 23 men's and 24 women's tennis programs across the NAIA. In addition to the team honors, six members of the men's team and six members of the women's team were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2024–25 academic year.
 
The ITA All-Academic Team award is presented to programs that achieve a team GPA of 3.2 or higher, with all varsity letter winners and eligible student-athletes factored into the calculation. Scholar-Athletes must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 during the academic year and appear on the institutional eligibility form.
 
Representing the Texas Wesleyan men's program as 2025 ITA Scholar-Athletes were senior Marco de Arcos Salamanca, junior Austin Davis, senior Gabriel Torres Arevalo, junior Jonathan Arzuaga-Portugues, senior Luca Link and junior Malte Sommer
On the women's side, honorees included sophomore Zeynep Ege, junior Micaelli Kate Magday, freshman Camdyn Sackett, junior Carla Arce, junior Kaja Brunzlow and sophomore Paulina Hudson.
 
In total, 186 NAIA men's tennis players and 191 women's players were named ITA Scholar-Athletes this year, reinforcing the ITA's mission to support the comprehensive development of student-athletes.
