KANSAS CITY - Texas Wesleyan University senior Daniel Oravbiere earned Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in leading the Rams to a pair of conference victories last week, the league office announced Monday.

Oravbiere recorded 12 defensive rebounds, six blocks and three steals across the two games. In a 77-64 win over College of the Ozarks, he contributed eight defensive rebounds, two blocks and two steals. He followed that with four blocks and four defensive rebounds in a victory against John Brown.

Other defensive player of the week nominees included Rico Yarbrough of Wayland Baptist, Mohand Ammad of Science and Arts, Jay Baxter of College of the Ozarks, Clance Crosby of Mid-America Christian, Jesse Iweze of Nelson, Alphonse Muteba of Oklahoma City and Jay Wilson of Langston.

Daylan Hamilton of Texas Wesleyan was among the nominees for offensive player of the week.
