OKLAHOMA CITY — Aiden Garza of Texas Wesleyan has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboard Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week in the field category, the conference announced Tuesday.

Garza earned the honor for his performance over the past week.

He won the pole vault at the Texas Wesleyan Indoor Qualifier (also known as the TXWES Winter Invitational) with a school-record clearance of 4.30 meters (14 feet, 1¼ inches). The mark ranks among the top in the conference this indoor season.

Garza, a sophomore from Hurst, Texas, set the new program record in the event.

Other nominees for men's field honors included Braylin Hartford of Langston, Carter McCain of Science & Arts, and Noah Osterloh of John Brown.

The weekly awards recognize standout performers across the Sooner Athletic Conference's men's indoor track and field programs.
