FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University men’s soccer team (1-2-1) took a 4-0 loss to the fifth ranked University of Science and Arts Oklahoma (3-0-2) at Martin Field on Tuesday.

The Rams honored a local fire department prior to the contest, for their bravery and service, as a part of Patriot Day. There was a moment of silence in honor of those who were affected by September 11, 2001.

The Rams looked sharp to start the game matching the Drovers stride for stride.

The Drovers played opportunistic early and were credited with a 1-0 lead off a deflection that Nicolas Alberto took advantage of.

The Rams played tough though, trying to fight their way back into the ball game.

The Drovers bested the Rams again right before half time in the 43rd minute. One minute and one second later, in the 44th minute USAO caught the Rams off guard making it 3-0 at the half.

The Drovers wasted no time in making it a 4-0 game, as Sam Rimmer knocked one into the net in the 45th minute to put the game out of reach.

Dejan Milocevic had six saves as he had to work hard against the Drovers’ forwards.

USAO had 17 shot, while Wesleyan had 6 shots. The fouls were many, but overall even with USAO tallying 23 to Wesleyan’s 19.

The Rams will travel to Oklahoma City to take on Oklahoma City University on Tuesday, September 18. That match set for a 7:00 P.M. start.
