FORT WORTH- Texas Wesleyan Athletic Director
Ricky Dotson has announced NAIA Hall of Famer
Bobby Cornett as the interim head golf coach for the rest of the season.
Shaun Hensley has stepped down as the Texas Wesleyan men's golf coach to enter a new career.
Dotson is confident that Cornett can get the job done for the rest of the season and wishes Hensley nothing but the best in his new endeavors, "I'm happy for Shaun and we all wish him well in his new career. He's been a tremendous representative of the University as a player and as a coach. He was an assistant coach in our most recent National Championship run in 2019, and then as a head coach, he got us to within one shot of another championship," said Dotson. "I hate to see Shaun go, but to know that we have a Hall of Fame, 4-time National Champion coach in
Bobby Cornett already assisting our golf team, I'm confident our men's golf program will not skip a beat while we search for our next head coach."
