FORT WORTH-- Head Coach Randy Dalzell announced the signing of Nathan Buckeridge, an incoming freshman distance runner from Haywards Heath in West Sussex, England. Buckeridge is an outstanding student with a 4.0 GPA, graduating from Warden Park Academy in Cuckfield, England. He is an accomplished distance runner who finished 16th in the British XC Challenge and has a 5K cross country best of 15:45. His track personal bests are 1:59.4 in the 800m, 4:01.63 for 1500m and 8:54.83 for 3000m. Buckeridge competed as part of the Crawley AC track club and was the 800m champion of the Sussex County Championships. He will be a freshman kinesiology/exercise science major.
Coach Dalzell's thoughts on the addition of Buckeridge:
"We are very excited to add Nathan to our distance crew for the upcoming school year! He is a very fine young distance runner with very competitive times as well as an excellent student. You can see by his personal bests that he should be a good collegiate cross country athlete as well as be able to contribute in the middle and long distance events in indoor and outdoor track and field. We feel like he will be an excellent addition to our men's distance group and a great fit for the team and university at large."
