Head women's golf coach Kevin Millikan announced the signing of Makena Junkin from Burleson, TX, for the 2023-24 season. She is currently beginning her senior season at Burleson Centennial High School and is coached by former Texas Wesleyan golf team member Matt Dunn.

As a junior this year, Makena won three high school tournaments and qualified for the State Championship with her team. This summer, she added her name to the prestigious list of champions at the Fort Worth Junior Golf Championship.

Kevin Millikan shared his thoughts on the signing: "I'm very excited about Makena joining the team next season. I have followed her junior golf career for several years, and I know her work ethic and attention to detail are unmatched. She is a great young lady, and I expect her to be a top performer for us in the coming years."
