WGOLF: Rams Complete Round Before Weather Strikes Course

YPSILANTI  — Texas Wesleyan University sat tied for 29th place when inclement weather forced the suspension of play Tuesday during the opening round of the 2026 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship at Eagle Crest Golf Club.

The Rams posted a team score of 170, or 26-over par, before play was halted and were tied atop the leaderboard alongside Marian University. Several teams and players were unable to complete their rounds before weather suspended competition.

Tournament officials later announced the championship would be shortened to a 54-hole event. The second round is scheduled to begin Thursday morning, with the field cut to the top 15 teams and ties, along with the top six individuals not on advancing teams and ties, following 36 holes of play.

Jordan Pillay paced Texas Wesleyan individually with an opening-round 83 to sit 13th overall at 11-over par, while teammate Sofia Gorgees Baeta carded an 87 and was 15th at 15-over.

At the time play was suspended, Yunyi Luo held the overall individual lead at 3-under par through 10 holes after recording birdies on holes No. 6, No. 9 and No. 10.

Katherine Hao was the clubhouse leader after completing an even-par 72, while Indiana Wesleyan University's Claire Dubois and Dalton State College teammates Reese Day and Tylah James were tied for second after shooting 76.
