OKLAHOMA CITY — Texas Wesleyan University's Makena Junkin was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Golf Player of the Year after leading the Rams to the 2026 SAC Championship, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

Junkin, ranked No. 15 nationally, has posted a 73.9 scoring average this season, collecting four tournament titles and nine top-three finishes. She secured the conference championship medalist honor with a three-over-par 219, helping power Texas Wesleyan to the team title.

The award caps a standout season for Junkin and highlights her record win at the conference championship.
