Fort Worth, TX - Head Coach Randy Dalzell announced the addition of two more high quality men's distance runners for the 2023-2024 school year. Both athletes will run cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.
Rocharn Wilson joins the team after spending last season at Iowa Central Community College. He is originally from Ontario, Canada and ran with the Phoenix Athletic track club in Scarborough, Ontario. His personal bests are 1:52 for 800m and 3:57 for 1500m. He will be a junior studying Criminal Justice.
Dalzell believes Wilson will be a big contribution to the indoor and outdoor races.
"Rocharn gives us another very good middle distance runner," said Dalzell. "This will allow us to put together some great indoor relays in the DMR and 4 x 800m relay. We are very excited about his potential in all the middle-distance events."
True freshman Brian Kiplangat from Koru, Kenya joins the rams after graduating Augustine's Kandege Secondary School in January of 2022. He has personal bests of 8:31 in the 3000m and 14:53 in the 5K cross country races, both at altitude. He will be studying Exercise Science.
"We are excited to get Brian started in the program," said Dalzell. "He has some good marks and should be a very competitive distance runner in cross country, indoor and outdoor track," said Dalzell.
