Fort Worth, TX: Head Coach Randy Dalzell announced the addition of local high school jumper John Olusanya to the men's track and field team. Olusanya graduated from Midlothian Heritage High School in May and is a talented sprinter and jumper. He has personal bests of 22' 5.5" in the long jump and 44' 10.25" in the triple jump. He also ran the 100m in 11.23 and ran on multiple relay teams for the Jaguars. He won the long jump at the Alvarado Gayle Pruett Relays and the Life Waxahachie Rick Pinson Invitational and won the triple jump at the Stephenville Colonel Mobley Optimist Relays. He also placed third in the triple jump at the UIL 5A Area 7-8 Championships. Olusanya will also play football for TXWES as a cornerback/secondary defensive specialist.
"John is a great young man and will be a fine addition to our sprints and jumps group. He is especially talented in the horizontal jumps and could really develop as a high-impact jumper in the long jump and triple jump for us. We are excited to get him training with our sprints and jumps coaches this year and see what impact he can have in multiple events," said Dalzell.
