Westworth Village, TX - The TXWES Men's Texas Wesleyan Golf team, led by Men's Head Coach Kevin Long, competed in the Texas Intercollegiate tournament at the Hawks Creek Golf Course in Westworth Village, Texas, on Monday and Tuesday and finished first in their intercollegiate division.
The Men's Golf Blue team finished first in the tournament, scoring 849 in total scores. The group consisted of seniors Juan Ricardo Devila Bone with rounds of 69, 71 and 71 for a -5 under par, for a solo fifth place finish and
Tom Ammann with rounds of 72, 77 and 70 for a +7Â over par and
Rory White with rounds of 70, 68 and 71 for a -7 under par and finished T2 with one other golfer, juniors
Agustin Marquez with rounds of 72, 74 and 77 for a +11Â over par and
Bryan deJonge with rounds of 70, 72 and 71 for a -3Â under par.
The Men's White team finished the tournament, scoring 872 in total scores. The group consisted of graduate students
Chayan Duha, with rounds of 70, 73 and 73 for a +4Â over par, and Peter Weng, with rounds of 72, 68 and 70 for a -6Â under par for a solo fourth place finish. Juniors
Jung Woo Youn with rounds of 75, 68 and 70 for a -3Â under par, and
Brayden Ingebrigtsen with rounds of 83, 78 and 87 for a +36Â over par. Rounding out the scoring for the team was sophomore
Kaisone Chanthapanya with rounds of 83, 76 and 74 for a ++21Â over par.
The Men's Gold team finished the tournament, scoring 865 in total scores. Tournament winner freshman
Colin Price led the team with 67, 64 and 70 rounds for a -15 under par. The rest of the group consisted of sophomores
Jose Manuel Sanchez, with rounds of 72, 73 and 73 for a +6 over par, and
Haroon Aslam, with rounds of 75, 77 and 74 for a +14Â over par. Rounding out the team's scores were freshman
Jesper Brinchmann-Hansen with rounds of 71, 76 and 73 for a +8Â over par and
Benjamin Leon with rounds of 76, 80 and 79 for a +23 over par.
The Rams also had three individuals compete in the tournament as medalists, including senior Shahyar Hamza with 78, 79 and 85 rounds for a +30 over par, freshman Goncalo Correa with rounds of 81, 76 and 78 for a +23Â over par, and
Dylan Kiser with rounds of 80, 73 and 78 for a +19Â over par.
The Rams play again next week from Sept. 18 - 19, traveling to compete at the NW Iowa National Invitational in Le Mars, Iowa, at the Willow Creek Golf Club.Â
