On Monday and Tuesday, the TXWES Men's Golf team competed in the NW Iowa National Invitational at Willow Creek Golf Club in Le Mars, IA and finished first in the tournament, with senior Juan Ricardo Davila Bone winning the individual title on the first playoff hole.
The Men's Golf team finished the tournament with an 859 total (-5 under par). Bone led the Rams by winning the tournament with rounds of 75, 68 and 65 (-5).
Senior Tom Ammann shot 75, 72 and 69 (+3), finishing T9 with fellow golfer junior Bryan de Jonge who shot 75, 72 and 69 (+3).
Senior Rory White shot 76, 71 and 73 (+7), finishing T17 with one other golfer.
Rounding out the Rams team scoring, freshman Colin Price shot rounds of 75, 75 and 76 (+13), finishing T33 with two other golfers.
Graduate student Peter Weng shot 77, 76 and 75 (+15), and finished T39 with one other golfer competing as an individual.
The field in Le Mars consisted of 12 schools: Ottawa University.(AZ), Mid-America Nazarene University, Bellevue University (NE), Friends University, Grand View University, Morningside University, Southwestern Christian University, Kansas Wesleyan University, Northwestern College Iowa, University of Jamestown and William Penn University.
The Rams will compete in the NAIA National Preview on October 2 and 3 at the Dalton Golf & Country Club in Dalton, GA.
