TT: Deng and Zin Win WTT Women's Doubles Championship

Corpus Christi, TX - Over the past weekend, the American Back Center played host to the WTT Feeder Series Event. The international competition showcased players hailing from several countries around the globe, including Mexico, Canada, Asia, and Europe. The players were not only playing for the coveted title but also for a prize purse of $22,500.

Two seniors from Texas Wesleyan University, Zhen Deng and Jiaqi Lin, demonstrated their prowess in the Women's Doubles section. In the first round, these accomplished sports communication majors faced off against Fabiola Diaz and Melanie Diaz, emerging triumphant with a decisive 3-0 victory.

Advancing to the second round, the TXWES duo displayed their skills once again, overcoming Amy Wang and Lily Zhang with a commendable score of 3-1. The upset victory over a highly ranked American duo paved the way for their well-deserved place in the quarterfinals.

Continuing their impressive performance, Deng and Lin secured another noteworthy win in the subsequent round against Camila Arguelle and Sibel Altinkaya, prevailing with a score of 3-1 and advancing to the finals match.

In the final round of the competition, Deng and Lin faced strong opponents in Clio Barcanas and Arantxa Cossio Aceves from Mexico. Emerging victorious and clinching the Women's Double Championship with a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
