TT: Scepanovic Clutch Performance Propels Wesleyan Over UCLA

EAU CLAIRE, WI - The Texas Wesleyan Table Tennis team traveled to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, this past week to defend their titles, hoping to achieve another deep run at College Nationals.

By day two, the women's team was in an intense final with last year's champion, UCLA. After three hard-fought matches, the pressure rested on senior Sofija Scepanovic to put an end to UCLA's repeat championship dreams.

The match would prove to be one of the most important matches of the entire tournament. Should Scepanovic win, UCLA would have no chance to play doubles, and their run at the title is officially over, restoring the glory to TXWES for the women once again.

From the first serve, it was all Sofija, winning the first game 11-4, followed by another 11-4, completing the dominant 3-0 match with an 11-6 third set over UCLA's Ying. This victory officially crowned the Texas Wesleyan Women's team National Champions, something they accomplished as recently as 2022.
