Fort Worth, TX - Texas Wesleyan's Women's Table Tennis team are champions again. A weekend full of matches, the Lady Rams earned their spot to play against UC Berkeley in the finals. Falling behind Berkeley 1-2, the pressure was on the Rams Jiaqi Lin to win her match and force a tie breaking doubles match. Participating in the Chinese Super League, and doing many youth exchange programs in Korea, pressure is nothing new to Lin. Gaining results such as 1st Place U18 Women's Singles in the 2018 U.S. Open, 1st Place Open Singles in the Pong City Open, 1st Place U21 Women's Singles in the 2021 U.S. Open, and 1st Place Women's Doubles in the 2021 U.S. Open, Lin simply loves to win. Victorious in three straight sets, Lin did her part in forcing doubles. She and her partner Zhen Deng would now have the opportunity to secure the 5th and final match, winning a national title for the Rams. Deng and Lin would go on to beat Berkeley 3-1 in doubles, crowning the Women's team National Champions once again. Texas Wesleyan Head Coach
Jasna Rather was proud of Lin's performance in the Nationals. "Jiaqi Lin is a great team member. Her results already show her strength. She is still very young and has a bright future on the international scene. Jiaqi may very soon become eligible to represent the USA and with that to strengthen team USA, " said Rather. A sophomore at Texas Wesleyan, Lin expects to graduate in 2023 with a Bachelors in Sports Communication where she can begin coaching
