ROCKFORD, IL - Texas Wesleyan University brought home yet another National Championship Trophy as they were named NCTTA National Champions in the Coed Division. The Rams also showed out in Men's doubles as well as singles in both the Men's and Women's divisions.
In the Coed division, the Rams battled with several top teams and reigned victorious over all of them to take the National title. After receiving a bye in the first round, the Rams swept Rutgers 4-0, followed by a 3-1 victory over Western. Going into the semifinals against UCLA, the Rams had previously beaten them in 2025 to go to the finals, and history had repeated itself as the Rams defeated the Bruins 4-0 to face off with the 2025 National Champions California. After the Rams had fallen to California last year, they triumphed in 2026 to take the Coed title and reign supreme once again.
In Men's doubles, the Rams had five pairs represented in the Championship Bracket. All five pairs were victorious in their opening rounds with three of them advancing to the quarterfinals. Pair one of Jonatan McDonald and Senura Silva advanced to the semifinals with a victory over a pair from New York University. The Rams second pair of Nicolas Matias Ayala Palacios and Nicholas Yamane were victorious over a pair from Cal Poly. Both pairs unfortunately fell in the semifinal matches, but that secured a bronze for the Rams in men's doubles.
In the singles competition, the Rams had six players in the top 16 seeded players, looking to take the field by storm. The Rams had several players advance past the first round with Silva making it all the way to the quarterfinals. Unfortunately the Rams fell short, but they battled to the very end, showcasing their prowess in the table tennis world once again.
