LEMARS, IA - On Monday and Tuesday, the TXWES Women's Golf team competed in the 6th Annual NW Iowa National
Invitational at Willow Creek Golf Club in Le Mars, IA and finished first in the tournament, and sophomore Makena Junkin won the individual title for the second week in a row.
The Women's Golf team finished the tournament with an 851 total (-13 under par). Junkin led the Rams by winning the tournament with rounds of 69, 69 and 70 (-8).
Senior Raeleigh Davidson shot 72, 69 and 70 (-5), finishing the tournament in second place.Â
Senior Salome Arango shot rounds of 70, 76 and 71 (+1) to finish the tournament in fourth place.
Junior Natalie Miksovska shot 71, 73 and 74 (+2), good enough for a solo fifth-place finish.
Rounding out the Rams team scoring, senior Addie Poulin shot rounds of 73, 81 and 71 (+9), finishing T10 with one other golfer.
Junior Lucia Larruscain shot 76, 72 and 75 (+7), and finished T8 with one other golfer competing as an individual.
The field in Le Mars consisted of 7 other schools:  #11 Embry-Riddle (AZ), #20 Lewis-Clark State,  #18 OUAZ, Kansas Wesleyan, #25 Morningside, RV Mount Mercy and Grandview
The Rams will compete in the Carey Invitational from September 30 to October 1 at the Canebreak Golf Course in Hattiesburg, MS.
