NORMAN - The Texas Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the JD Martin Invitational at the Oklahoma-Mosier Indoor Track in Norman, Oklahoma.

On the men's side, junior Tyrece Grant won the 60-meter dash title in 6.77 seconds in the final after a preliminary time of 6.76. Senior Hayden Boydston placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles final in 8.45 after advancing from preliminaries in 8.58.

Freshman Hayden Norwich took the shot-put victory with a mark of 16.61 meters (54-6). Boydston added a seventh-place finish in the shot put at 13.31 meters (43-8), while freshman Xavier Perez was fifth at 11.96 meters (39-2.75).

Freshman Alex Tisdale placed 10th at 11.35 meters (37-3). Javier Hampton was 31st in the 60 dash preliminaries (7.55). In the pole vault, freshman Aidan Garza did not clear a height. Hurdles competitors Cason Rogers and Jaiden Reed did not finish their preliminary heats.

For the women, freshman Kaitlyn "Rags" Walker competed in the pole vault but did not clear a height (NH, with attempts at 3.15m resulting in three fouls).

No team scores were reported for the multi-team meet, hosted by the University of Oklahoma.

The Rams will next compete on January 30 and 31 at the University of Houston at the Robert Platt Invitational.
