KANSAS CITY — A group of Texas Wesleyan University student-athletes has earned national recognition for their excellence in the classroom as part of the NAIA's 2026 Spring Scholar-Athletes list.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the honorees, who must maintain a high cumulative grade-point average while competing in spring sports. Texas Wesleyan had more than two dozen Rams make the list across baseball, softball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, women's beach volleyball, men's and women's track & field, and other programs. All compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Among the honorees are seniors such as Alfredo E. Martinez and Brendon Vela (baseball); Ashley Darilek, Josie Glaze, Kadynce Crenshaw, Kaitlyn Rodriguez and Mattee Fry (softball); Austin A. Davis, Malte Sommer and Sergio Flores (men's tennis); Carla Arce Fernandez, Kaja Brunzlow, Micaelli Magday and others (women's tennis); and multiple standouts in golf, track & field, wrestling, volleyball and beach volleyball including Haroon Aslam, Benjamin Leon, Lucia Larruscain Navarro, Natalie Miksovska, Cason Rogers, Johnathon Ward, Sydney Alexander, Tyrece GMakena Junkin, rant and Lillian Breaux, Mayara Swillens
The list also features underclassmen and graduate students such as sophomores Audrey Rogers, Brady Meek, Juliana Molina, Kaitlyn Walker, Matisse Lassequin, Kaitlyn Walker and Reagan Fitzsimmons, along with juniors like Paulina Hudson, Zeynep Sila Ege, Jasper Brinchmann-Hansen, Corrina Griffin and graduate student Gabriel Sepulveda (baseball) and Hope M. Miller (women's beach volleyball).
The full NAIA Spring Scholar-Athletes list recognizes hundreds of student-athletes nationwide who exemplify the organization's emphasis on the "whole person" — combining athletic competition with academic excellence. For Texas Wesleyan, the honorees represent a broad cross-section of its athletic programs and underscore the university's commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes.
