Rams Place 293 Student-Athletes on SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll

OKLAHOMA CITY –  Texas Wesleyan University topped the Sooner Athletic Conference with 293 student-athletes earning spots on the 2025-26 SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Sooner Athletic Conference Commissioner John Martin announced Thursday.

A total of 1,995 student-athletes from across the conference were recognized for their academic achievements over the past year. Wayland Baptist placed second with 249 honorees, and Nelson rounded out the top three with 220.

The Commissioner's Honor Roll honors student-athletes in any NAIA recognized sport, including competitive cheer, dance and women's wrestling. To qualify, each student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale, be on an active roster and be nominated by their institution's faculty athletics representative and/or compliance officer.

Texas Wesleyan's 293 honorees represented every area of the athletic department, highlighting the university's commitment to academic excellence across its 21 varsity programs.

The baseball program produced 23 Commissioner's Honor Roll selections, while football led all Texas Wesleyan teams with 58 honorees. Men's soccer followed with 28 selections, while softball had 23 and women's soccer had 20.

Other notable team totals included men's track & field with 19 honorees, women's wrestling with 16, women's volleyball with 15, men's golf with 14, men's basketball with 12, beach volleyball with 12, women's basketball with 12, men's wrestling with 12, women's golf with seven, women's outdoor track & field with six, and men's and women's cross country combining for 11 honorees.
