OKLAHOMA CITY - Texas Wesleyan University matched the conference lead with 15 teams earning recognition on the 2025-26 Sooner Athletic Conference All-Academic Scholar Team list, the conference office announced Tuesday.
The Rams tied Oklahoma City University and Wayland Baptist University for the most teams recognized among SAC institutions as the conference began a week-long celebration of student-athlete academic achievement across the league.
To earn SAC All-Academic Scholar Team honors, each team must compile a combined grade point average of 3.00 or higher. Team GPAs are calculated using each institution's standard GPA policies by dividing the total quality points earned by all team members by the total GPA hours earned.
Texas Wesleyan's 15 honored teams included:

- Women's Basketball (3.26)
- Beach Volleyball (3.50)
- Softball (3.55)
- Men's Golf (3.56)
- Women's Golf (3.69)
- Men's Soccer (3.12)
- Women's Soccer (3.40)
- Women's Volleyball (3.59)
- Men's Tennis (3.32)
- Women's Tennis (3.84)
- Women's Cross Country (3.12)
- Women's Track & Field (3.04)
- Women's Wrestling (3.19)
Women's Tennis posted Texas Wesleyan's highest team GPA at 3.84, followed by Women's Golf (3.69), Women's Volleyball (3.59), Men's Golf (3.56), Softball (3.55) and Beach Volleyball (3.50).
Conference-wide, 129 teams were recognized on the 2025-26 SAC All-Academic Scholar Team list. Joining Texas Wesleyan atop the conference with 15 honored teams were Oklahoma City and Wayland Baptist. John Brown University, Nelson University, Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Southwestern Christian University and University of Science & Arts each placed 11 teams on the list.
The SAC All-Academic Scholar Team program recognizes programs that demonstrate excellence in the classroom while competing at a high level on the field of play, reflecting the conference's commitment to academic and athletic success.
