MARSHALL, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s soccer team (7-4-2, 4-1-1 RRAC) took a 3-0 win in Red River Athletic Conference action at Wiley College (0-6-1, 0-6-1) on Thursday.
 
TJ Romaguera got the Rams started when he scored off an assist from Hector Sanchez just under 20 minutes into the contest.  In the 28th minute, Ivan Kovacevic blasted his conference-leading 11th goal of the season to give Texas Wesleyan a 2-0 cushion.
 
In the 43rd minute, just before the intermission Clay Lawson hit Ricardo Aguilera for Texas Wesleyan’s third strike of the day.
 
In the first half, Texas Wesleyan outshot Wiley 18-5 and possessed the ball to the tune of 10 corner kicks.
 
In the second half, play leveled off, but Dejan Milosevic stopped all three of the Wildcats’ shots on goal to secure his first shutout of the season.
 
For the game, the Rams led 26-10 in shots, 12-3 in corner kicks, and 13-8 in fouls.
 
The Rams will return to action on Saturday, when they travel to Houston, TX, to take on the University of St. Thomas.  That RRAC contest is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start.
