OKLAHOMA CITY - Texas Wesleyan University topped the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) in academic excellence for the 2024-25 academic year, placing a league-best 217 student-athletes on the Academic All-SAC list, the conference office announced Tuesday.

The annual recognition celebrates student-athletes who demonstrated outstanding performance in the classroom while competing in SAC-sponsored championship sports. To be eligible, student-athletes must have maintained a minimum 3.25 GPA over the previous two semesters and be regular letter winners for their respective programs.

Texas Wesleyan led the SAC field with 217 honorees, followed by fellow members with strong showings, including Southwestern Assemblies of God (SAGU) with 201, Oklahoma City University with 184, and Wayland Baptist with 158.

Rams student-athletes from across all sports were honored, including representatives from baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, track and field, golf, softball, beach volleyball, and cross country.
