OKLAHOMA CITY — Texas Wesleyan University was picked to finish tied for sixth in the 2026 Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was announced Tuesday as part of the conference's Fall Sports Virtual Media Days.
The Rams received 36 points in the preseason poll, tying Nelson for sixth place. The poll was voted on by the SAC's head coaches.
Oklahoma City, the defending SAC regular-season and tournament champion, was selected as the preseason favorite with 78 points and seven first-place votes. Mid-America Christian was second with 72 points and three first-place votes, while John Brown was third with 69 points.
Southwestern Christian was fourth with 51 points, followed by Wayland Baptist with 44. Texas Wesleyan and Nelson tied for sixth with 36 points, while Science & Arts was eighth with 35. Panhandle State (17) and Central Christian (10) rounded out the poll.
Texas Wesleyan head coach Matt Pitcock and selected player Diogo Stefanie will represent the Rams during Tuesday's SAC Virtual Media Day. The men's soccer session will feature conference coaches and players discussing the upcoming 2026 season with SAC Assistant Commissioner Jim Powers.
The virtual media days are being presented by the Sooner Athletic Conference and will be shown on the Urban Edge Network. The men's soccer sessions began Tuesday with the release of the preseason poll at 9 a.m. CT, followed by team-specific interviews beginning at 9:30 a.m.
