Box Score MONTGOMERY, AL: The Texas Wesleyan University men's soccer team (1-1) erased a 2-0 deficit and used an
Alen Pucko goal with ten seconds to play to take a 3-2 win over the University of St. Thomas Florida (0-1) on Saturday. The game was a neutral site contest played at Auburn University Montgomery's Warhawk Classic.
St. Thomas came out with a flurry, but a resilient Texas Wesleyan team refused to give in. The Bobcats outshot the Rams 8-2 in the opening half and used goals from Olando Lawrence in the 12th minute and Fabian Heinrich in the 18th minute to take a 2-0 lead.
Hard work put in during training began to pay off for the Rams however. A strike from
Drake Trease in the 37th minute cut the deficit in half and Texas Wesleyan would get the better of the action in the second half. "Our fitness kicked in and we just kept pressing," said head coach Tyler Powell.
The Rams were aggressive but slowed by a lopsided 8-2 foul count in the period. In the 53rd minute Heinrich was shown a yellow card. The action that followed featured a shot from
Mohamed Faye that missed wide, a shot from Trease that was saved, and finally a game-tying goal from
Brandon Head.
The game remained tied 2-2 and appeared destined for overtime heading into the final minute. With 36 seconds to play, Pucko was shown a yellow card, giving STU a free kick. The Rams cleared the ball and
Marin Kovacevic started a counter attack. A four on two advantage led to a shot from Head that was saved, but Pucko was there to put the rebound in the net with just 10 seconds showing on the clock.

The Rams will return to action on Friday, when they host fifth ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University at Martin Field. That game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
